Mikkel Albertsen

I offer therapy on Zealand as well as online. I also provide therapy in English.

My name is Mikkel Albertsen, and I graduated as a psychologist from the University of Copenhagen in 2002.

In 2012, I became a licensed psychologist after completing more than 1,000 hours of practical client work under the ongoing supervision of other psychologists. Additionally, I completed a two-year advanced training program in metacognitive therapy under the method’s founder, Professor Adrian Wells, at the MCT Institute, making me an MCT-I registered therapist.

Since then, my experience has grown through my work as a psychologist in corporate settings, the sports world, and with private clients. I teach psychological topics, work with individual clients and groups, supervise other psychologists, and continually expand and refine my skills as a therapist through further education.

At Cektos, I use metacognitive therapy to help with challenges such as stress, anxiety, depression, life crises, and PTSD.

When seeking a psychologist, it’s usually because you feel stuck in something truly difficult. Asking for help can be vulnerable and require courage. That’s why I focus on meeting you with presence, life experience, and a strong foundation in psychological expertise. This allows you to immediately feel safe and supported. From the start, you’ll notice that we are working with a proven and structured method that equips you with tools to overcome your challenges.

We begin by mapping out your difficulties and identifying the unhelpful patterns that keep you stuck. Through conversation and exercises, you will learn how to manage the attention you give to your thoughts and emotions. You’ll discover new ways to take control of your mental life and, in doing so, feel better. I strive to create a space where we work purposefully on difficult issues and new skills, but where there’s also room for enjoyment and humor.
